Getting a PTSD service dog is a fantastic way to help you through civilian life. It extends so far into your life and can make a positive impact. If you’re wondering where a veteran can obtain a PTSD service dog, you’re in the right place.

The VA recently launched a pilot program where they are helping veterans with mental health issues by connecting them with service dogs. The VA already has plenty of resources and works with outside organizations to get PTSD service dogs where they are most needed, but now they are looking at having their own program.

There is also a national organization called America’s vet dogs. They talk with you about any issues you are currently facing and then can provide a service dog that meets your needs! They also take you through a week of training with your dog in order to make sure the transition is smooth. Best part? It’s free of charge as long as you meet their eligibility requirements!
